Is 26.2 just not your style? Gather your people and run this marathon as a relay!

Relay Team Information

Marathon Team Relay Information:

  • Every relay team member MUST Register individually. Relay team members must enter the name of their team when registering.

  • Teams can be made up of 2 to 5 people. Legs of the Marathon will vary in length from 4 miles to 7 miles to total 26.2, and finish at Taylor Brooke Brewery.

  • Each team member will receive a bib this year. One of the team bibs will have a chip that the finishing runner must wear. Teams are responsible for ensuring the runner crossing the finish line is wearing the bib with the chip, or your time will not be counted.

  • Each team must have a vehicle to bring the completed runners to the finish line. Relay teams are responsible for their own transportation to and from relay points during the race.

  • We encourage all runners and relay teams to join our fundraising campaign to help raise donations for an amazing organization: Community Kitchens of Northeast Connecticut. Please follow the link to our Give Butter campaign page to sign up and start raising funds today. Share with your friends and family, and help us support the local community.

Runner General Information

The race is held on open and rural roads with close to 2,000 feet of elevation gain throughout the course. Many areas include blind turns for both runners and vehicles. Runners will run on the left side of the road, and must practice road safety along the entirety of the route. Although there have been only minor injuries in the past it is possible a serious injury could occur.

Because parts of the course are not paved, and in some more remote areas, it is possible that an injured runner might have to wait more than 15 minutes for emergency medical care. Emergency medical services will be on call during the race. However, please do NOT enter this race if you are not prepared to accept the risks associated with this course.

There is a strict 6 hour pace for the marathon. Due to route safety and volunteer coordination, we can only allow runners on the course from 8:00am to 2:00pm. Town constables, EMS, water tables, and other support systems are planned to adhere to this schedule. Should a runner be unable to finish the course, the designated pacer vehicle will transport runners to the finish line.
